Science Direct In-Person
Science Direct is a multidisciplinary database, which provides access to a large content of scientific and medical research. It hosts over 12 million pieces of literature from 3,500 academic journals and 34,000 e-books.The workshop includes a breif introduction to ScienceDirect, along with the updates and enhancements on search, browse and personalization features of the platform. The remaining part of the workshop will be an interactive session with the speaker to address questions and needs of the attendees.

More than 25 years of experience working in libraries in the United Arab Emirates and Iraq.
In the United Arab Emirates worked for one year in the Higher Colleges of Technology ADMC as library assistant, handling acquisitions, reference, daily and monthly statistical reports, and participated in establishing the new medical CELT library.
Since 2006 up-to-date working at the Petroleum Institute (pre merge with Khalifa University and Masdar Institute).
Started as acquisitions library officer: building PI's collection, original and copy cataloging, ILL requests, and reference services.
Research services librarian: reference services, information literacy sessions, workshops, create research guides, liaison with students and faculty.
Public services librarian: supervise client services workflow and functions. Develop, implement, evaluate information literacy programs. Research and computing workshops, prepare lesson plans, provide training opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. Library marketing and outreach services.
Education:
Bachelor degree in Library and Information Science.
Master degree in Library and Information Science.
