In 2018, you can look forward to Author Sessions for Primary and Secondary students, Poetry Live! for GSCE students, andUniversity Day – a new addition to our Education Programme offering university students an enjoyable day of onsite sessions from acclaimed speakers to enrich and enhance their learning. These Paid Student Sessions will take place as part of the EAFOL Education Programme on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 March. Please note the different locations for each Paid Session detailed below.

  • Author Sessions will be held at The InterContinental Events Centre, Dubai Festival City (where the main Festival is held) on Wednesday 7 March. Each ticket will cost 40 dhs.
  • Poetry Live! will be held at the Cultural and Scientific Association Building Theatre, Al Mamzar on Wednesday 7 MarchClick here for location map. Each ticket will cost 100 dhs.
  • University Day will be held at The InterContinental Events Centre, Dubai Festival City, on Thursday 8 March. Each ticket will cost 100 dhs.

All students will require advance purchase tickets. Accompanying teachers will receive free tickets.

Please note that we require a deposit of 300dhs to reserve tickets. Once reserved, the tickets must be paid for in full within 28 days.

The deposit of 300dhs will be deducted from the total price of the group ticket purchase. The deposit must be paid online, by credit or debit card. The balance may be paid by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Please connect us with your school accountant to finalise the balance payment.

Tickets that have not been paid for within 28 days will be unreserved and offered to our other schools. The 300 dhs deposit is non-refundable.

More than 25 years of experience working in libraries in the United Arab Emirates and Iraq. 

In the United Arab Emirates worked for one year in the Higher Colleges of Technology ADMC as library assistant, handling acquisitions, reference, daily and monthly statistical reports, and participated in establishing the new medical CELT library. 

Since 2006 up-to-date working at the Petroleum Institute (pre merge with Khalifa University and Masdar Institute).

Started as acquisitions library officer: building PI's collection, original and copy cataloging, ILL requests, and reference services.

Research services librarian: reference services, information literacy sessions, workshops, create research guides, liaison with students and faculty.

Public services librarian: supervise client services workflow and functions. Develop, implement, evaluate information literacy programs. Research and computing workshops, prepare lesson plans, provide training opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. Library marketing and outreach services.

Education:

Bachelor degree in Library and Information Science.

Master degree in Library and Information Science.
